Injaz Qatar’s Annual Event To Celebrate Student Company Achievements

Doha, Qatar

Ooredoo was the Gold Sponsor for the awards ceremony of the Mubadara Young Entrepreneurs competition, held on 28 April 2019 at the Student Centre Ballroom, Hamad bin Khalifa University, Education City.
The Mubadara Young Entrepreneurs initiative is an annual programme intended to give youth the opportunity to prepare for working life through the experience of running their own companies, supported by volunteers from the world of business in Qatar. It is open to both school and university students, with university students competing for Best Company Of The Year and school students also competing for Best Marketing Campaign, Most Innovative Product and Best Social Impact.
Students have spent the past academic semester establishing and operating their own companies; assigning roles, carrying out market analyses, selling stocks, producing goods, running marketing campaigns, selling their product and ultimately liquidating the company and distributing profits.
Each student company was evaluated according to set criteria, with merit given not only for business success as the initiative is also intended to balance the business achievements of each team with members’ individual personal development and performance. Winning teams are not only those that run a successful company, but also those that understand how and why their company performed as it did, and that demonstrated team spirit while encouraging self-growth and development.
Judging was held on 27 April 2019, and the initiative culminated in the Awards Ceremony, with Ooredoo presenting gifts to winner teams in both the school and university categories.
Manar Khalifa Al-Muraikhi, Director PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said: “One of the United Nations Sustainable Development goals is quality education, and at Ooredoo a key element of our corporate social responsibility is supporting education in the communities in which we operate. This initiative not only educates our youth, but prepares them for the world of work, which benefits the entire community and the economy. We are delighted to be working with Injaz Qatar and look forward to seeing some impressive talent and results.”
