Working Together Offering Real-time, Cross-border Remittance Service

Ooredoo Money has signed a partnership with Thunes, a global cross-border payments platform headquartered in Singapore, to offer real-time money transfers to multiple international mobile wallets. This partnership will enable Ooredoo Money customers to send money instantly to mobile wallets and bank accounts in 20 countries across Africa, South Asia and Asia Pacific.

Mobile money is one of the fastest-growing payment methods, with 548 million registered accounts across 157 providers in Africa and projected growth of 311% from 2020 to reach almost 440 million mobile wallet users in Southeast Asian countries by 2025. With a single integration, Thunes opens up instant access for businesses to enable seamless mobile wallet transfers across the world’s major receiver markets.
