Users to Access Exclusive Content and Much More Across HUAWEI Apps and Pay Securely with Ooredoo in a Few Taps

Doha, Qatar

Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator, Ooredoo, has announced that its HUAWEI smartphone users can now access direct carrier billing for in-app purchases.

This partnership empowers Ooredoo customers to enjoy exclusive content, gifts, special in-game events, promotions and much more on HUAWEI AppGallery and other HUAWEI apps, and pay for premium services through a few easy taps with their mobile phone numbers.

To use direct carrier billing for in-app and in-game purchases, Ooredoo customers can enter HUAWEI AppGallery, select ‘Mobile Payment’ from the list of available payment methods, then choose Ooredoo from the drop-down list of carriers. After inputting their mobile number, in-app charges will then appear on their Ooredoo bill or be deducted from their prepaid balance.
Ooredoo users can also effortlessly make payments in other HUAWEI smartphone apps such as HUAWEI Themes, HUAWEI Music, HUAWEI Video and HUAWEI Mobile Cloud. They can quickly and seamlessly subscribe to services on-the-go and access premium entertainment such as exclusive songs, themes, series and more across these apps.
Ooredoo’s direct carrier billing service is being enabled by TPAY MOBILE, a leading digital payments platform across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to give our customers using HUAWEI devices this quick, easy and convenient way to pay for their in-app purchases when they’re using HUAWEI AppGallery, and pleased to be offering a wide range of exciting extras including exclusive content, gifts and special in-game events available only to HUAWEI AppGallery users. Complete customer satisfaction is a key goal at Ooredoo, and this new feature adds even more value to our proposition for our customers using HUAWEI devices.”
Sahar Salama, Founder and CEO of TPAY MOBILE said: “We are very pleased to be partnering with Ooredoo and HUAWEI to enable consumers in Qatar to make in-app purchases through our unified payments platform. Through a single integration with a simple API, TPAY MOBILE’s Direct Carrier Billing platform gives digital entertainment players, including games, music and video providers, access to new markets and audiences, including those without a traditional bank account.
