Ooredoo Promotes Green Living and Sustainability, Partners with Seashore Group and Announces Recycling Programme
Doha, Qatar
Ooredoo, a key contributor to national corporate social responsibility initiatives, has announced today a partnership with Seashore Group that will see both parties collaborate on a major campaign to promote green living and sustainability.
The Recycling Programme was announced during the Qatar CSR Summit, held in Doha from 16 to 18 May 2023.
As part of this initiative, customers can now hand in any unwanted mobile devices at selected Ooredoo Shops. These items will then be, where appropriate, sent to be recycled.
Customers giving away their mobile devices could receive 5,000 Nojoom Points in exchange for suitable items, an incentive for those who are committed to environmentally responsible behaviour.
Thani Al Malki, Chief Business Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, said: “At Ooredoo, we believe that technology and sustainability can go hand in hand. This initiative is strongly aligned with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and is a testament to our ongoing efforts to promote environmental protection and social responsibility. We are proud to partner with Seashore Group to help reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste and promote sustainable practices in the community.”
Mr. Salem Al Mohannadi, CEO of the Seashore Group, said: “The initiative comes as part of the group’s social responsibility to raise the level of awareness among individuals towards recycling their phones and environmental sustainability. We have many partnerships in this area and seek through them to enable sustainability and the circular economy, and the recycling of wages for those in need for reusable devices, as well as the conversion of damaged ones into raw materials.”
Participating retail branches include Ooredoo Shops at Villagio Mall, City Center Mall, Doha Festival City and Airport Road.
