Executive Briefing for Ooredoo Business Leaders

Doha, Qatar

Ooredoo Executives met with the President and Head of Ericsson One networks in California for an Executive Briefing, to witness new technologies and explore key business opportunities for both organisations.

Attendees from the Ooredoo delegation were introduced to core Ericsson technologies at the D-15 centre in Silicon Valley, California. They toured Ericsson laboratories and experienced several important use case demonstrations. Specifically, this involved a remote connection to the Plano Experience centre and seeing Indro robotics in action, flying a remote-controlled drone in Canada.

The Executives also met with their counterparts at Cradlepoint — a recent landmark Ericsson acquisition committed to 5G and Wireless WAN — and discussed enterprise business opportunities in smart ports and in private networks in oil and gas.

Thani Ali Al-Malki, Executive Director Business at Ooredoo – said: “It is very exciting to meet with Ericsson while its leadership showcases multiple business solutions. Ericsson D-15 is a state-of-the-art innovation centre located in the heart of Silicon Valley, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and precisely the sort of institution that Ooredoo seeks to partner with as we bring about major changes. Ericsson is currently helping us to modernise the networks of the oil and gas industry in Qatar and we are also looking forward to a very exciting engagement during September and October to boost innovation in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Kevin Murphy, Vice President and Head of Ericsson Levant Countries and Global Customer Unit Ooredoo Group at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, says: “Ericsson is committed to supporting Ooredoo in accelerating their digitization journey and this executive visit is one such initiative to support Ooredoo with new innovative ideas. Ericsson will continue to support Ooredoo with its cutting-edge technologies and initiatives to promote innovation, creativity, and technological advancement to better support enterprise business growth in the state of Qatar. It was a pleasure to welcome Ooredoo executives at Ericsson D-15 and we look forward to further strengthening this collaboration

This site visit, tour and executive briefing is part of a recent and wide-ranging mission by Ooredoo executives to key US technology companies.
