Event to Include Running, Cycling and e-Games from the Safety of Home
Doha, Qatar
Ooredoo has announced it is to be Platinum Sponsor of the 2020 Team Qatar Virtual Games, being organised by the Qatar Olympic Committee.
The 2020 Team Qatar Virtual Games is held from 21 June until 17 July 2020 and features four weeks of running, cycling and e-game activities that can all be done at home.
The event has been designed to encourage all sectors of the community to join Team Qatar and stay fit, active and healthy while staying home and staying safe during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. Organisers say the event is also an opportunity for participants to begin their preparations for the 2021 Ooredoo Doha Marathon, set to be held in January 2021.
Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo, said: “We know staying home has been difficult for many, with the necessary restrictions on movement proving challenging for those who enjoy exercise and fitness and especially those who enjoy taking part in sporting events. Hosting a virtual sporting event such as this one is a wonderful opportunity for participants of all ages and fitness levels to join in and be inspired by the awesome athletes we have representing Team Qatar. Supporting initiatives that promote a healthy, active lifestyle is a huge priority for us at Ooredoo, and we encourage as many people as possible to take part in the event from the safety of their homes.”
