Ooredoo Group Announces Launch of Commercial 5G Services in Indonesia

• 5G services launched in the city of Solo at a ceremony attended by the Qatar Ambassador to Indonesia
• Ooredoo Group now offers superfast 5G mobile broadband in five of its operating markets

¬¬¬Doha, Qatar, 24 June 2021: Ooredoo Q.P.S.C. (“Ooredoo” or the “Group”) – Ticker: ORDS today announced that its Indonesian operating company, PT Indosat Tbk. (“Indosat Ooredoo”), has launched its first commercial 5G services in the city of Solo, in Central Java.

The new 5G services will provide Indosat Ooredoo’s consumer and business customers with access to enhanced mobile broadband Internet enabling them to unlock new opportunities, and help to meet growing demand in Indonesia for digtial content and services over mobile networks.

Indosat Ooredoo announced the commercial launch of 5G services at an event in Solo attended by leading dignitaries, including Qatar Ambassador for the Republic of Indonesia, H. E. Ms. Fawziya Edrees Salman Al-Sulaiti; Indosat Ooredoo’s CEO Ahmad Al Neama; Minister of Communication and Information Technology Republic of Indonesia, Johnny G. Plate; and Mayor of Surakarta Municipality, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The launch of commercial 5G services in Indonesia furthers Ooredoo Group’s mission to enrich people’s digital lives by providing super-fast connectivity and outstanding digital services. To achieve this objective Ooredoo Group is rolling-out 5G mobile broadband across much of its global footprint, with commercial 5G services already available to customers in Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the Maldives.

Indosat Ooredoo’s 5G services will be initially available in Solo, with plans to extend the commercial roll-out to other major cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar, where demand for data services is high.
