Ooredoo Helps Young Entrepreneurs in Qatar Upgrade Worlds with Latest Sponsorships

Ooredoo – Qatar’s leading techco and a staunch supporter of enterprise – acted as Gold Sponsor of the recent Mubadara Awards Ceremony 2023 and played a key part in the ceremony, presenting the Highest Social Impact Award trophies to the winning students.

Mubadara 2023 – the Annual Young Enterprise of The Year competition from non-profit organisation INJAZ Qatar, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide – is the culmination of a six-month long programme offering student teams the opportunity to conceptualise, establish and operate a real business under the guidance of professionals from leading businesses across Qatar.

The awards ceremony was held on 24 May 2023 at the Qatar Foundation Student Center Ballroom and was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, as well as of the programme’s partners and sponsors. Ooredoo’s Director CSR, Sponsorship and Media – Moza Khalid Al-Muhannadi – represented the company and presented the Highest Social Impact Award trophies to the winning teams- “360 InVision” and “Maktbati”- as well as a prize of a tablet.

Mubadara 2023, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, attracted enrollment from 12 university teams and 6 teams from high schools. Mubadara enabled the students to showcase their business ventures, and highlight the skills learned throughout the programme, to a panel of judges that included some of the leading business figures in Qatar.
Sheikha Hanadi Nasser Al Thani, Chair of Injaz Qatar and Injaz Al Arab, said: “Congratulations to the participants and winners of this year’s Mubadara Awards. The calibre of their entries is a credit to them and their institutions. Mubadara was founded 15 years ago with the aim of inspiring youth in Qatar to start and grow entrepreneurial ventures and, through the programme, more than 3,500 students have explored their innovative business ideas and the opportunity to turn these ideas into thriving businesses. The programme isn’t just about winning a competition; it envisions building an influential community of entrepreneurs equipped to make significant contributions to Qatar’s expeditiously developing economy.”
the winning university team is “Khatwa” from Qatar University, and the winning high school team is “FA Robot” from Qatar Technical Secondary School for Girls– will now represent Qatar at the regional INJAZ Al-Arab Young Enterprise of The Year Competition, where they will be up against teams from 14 different countries across the MENA region.
