How it works:

After you subscribe to a Roam Like Home Key your local data, local calling minutes and SMS included in your tariff plan can all be used abroad.

For example, if you’re signed up for a Shahry M plan, 10GB and 600 local minutes/SMS can be used in roaming. Qatarna users, thanks to their generous plan allowances, can enjoy an extensive roaming experience.

      • Don’t want to activate your Ooredoo Passport yet? Make sure to turn off your roaming data, to avoid bill shock.
      • Activate the Ooredoo Passport (OP) before you leave Qatar. Activation will be confirmed by SMS.
      • Always keep the roaming data option on your smartphone switched off until you arrive at your destination, and receive the welcome SMS which will indicate Ooredoo Passport network partners.
      • Switch on the roaming data option on your phone, after selecting one of the Ooredoo Passport partners manually
      • Check your balance regularly.

      You told us you want to travel without worrying about roaming charges. We’ve just made Ooredoo Passport automatic. When you spend QR 100 roaming in a Passport country we will activate a Passport with 1 GB and 100 minutes for you. If you use it all up, we’ll do it again.

      • Roam Like Home Key” enables local calling, SMS and data allowances to be used while Roaming in selected countries.
      • Selected countries where Local allowances are consumed as part of Roaming usage are: KSA, Oman, Kuwait, UAE, Turkey, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, USA.
      • Local allowances eligible to be used while roaming: Local allowances included as part of your tariff plan, allowances provided by Add-ons, promotional allowances and WhatsApp allowance.
      • Local allowance not eligible for Roaming use: Data at lower (throttled) speed, which is used after the main Data allowance from your tariff plan is consumed.
      • Local allowances in Roaming will be consumed first before any Roaming allowance provided as part of your tariff plan or Ooredoo Passport
      • If all Local and Roaming allowances are consumed, you will be charged local (not Roaming) out-of-bundle rates while using services in Roaming.
      • Roam Like Home Key can be subscribed to by customers with Shahry S/M/L/XL and Qatarna Silver/Gold/Platinum, Al Nokhba and QNB First plans.
      • Roam Like Home Key is priced at QR150 and is valid for 7 days from subscription.
      • A Roam Like Home Key will expire automatically after 7 days, and you can activate it again for a new period.
      • A Roam Like Home Key can be activated only from 1 July – 30 September 31 2022.
      • The Roam Like Home Key service is dedicated for personal use. Ooredoo has right to stop service if abusive behaviour, commercial use, or service reselling to a 3rd party is observed.
      • VoLTE technology is compatible with your Roaming service.
      • In order to be able to use other countries networks, you will need a compatible device, as destination networks might be using different technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G, VoLTE, etc.).
