Ooredoo has continued to reach out to businesses and organisations across Qatar in recent weeks, having participated in two major security events to highlight its message about the importance of cyber security and enhanced data and infrastructure protection.

Ooredoo was one of the leading participants at Milipol Qatar 2016, the international exhibition of homeland security in the Middle East, which took place from 31 October to 2 November 2016.

The event saw the participation of 245 senior officials from 35 countries and a total of 6,538 visitors from 103 countries, with Ooredoo acting as the Official Telecommunications Partner.

Ooredoo showcased a range of superior cyber security solutions at the event, including the next generation Security Operations Centre (SOC) service. SOC is at the core of Ooredoo’s Unified Managed Security Services portfolio, is powered by Si Consult, and offers the most comprehensive suite of security services available in Qatar.

To demonstrate its knowledge on cyber security at the event, Ooredoo’s ‘Next Generation of Security Services’ presentation focused on the company’s real time automated analytical capabilities, and introduced predictive models and risk-hunting approaches aimed to proactively ensure Ooredoo’s customers are protected.

As part of Ooredoo’s push to become the leading ICT provider in Qatar, and in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, the company also showcased an innovative set of services. This included Ooredoo’s Video Analytics solution for situational awareness and a rapidly deployable Compact Network solution with different form factors for enterprise, emergency and disaster recovery situations. The portable compact network solution, which is powered by Nokia, can establish 4G network connectivity, even in remote areas, in minutes.

Yousuf Abdulla Al-Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “As the leading business services provider in Qatar, Ooredoo is uniquely positioned to offer full network support and advanced cyber-security for enterprises and businesses of all sizes. We are proud to work with the organisers of events like Milipol 2016 and the Information Security Conference to bring key security messages to life.”

Ooredoo received an award for its support of Milipol 2016, with Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, Ooredoo Qatar’s Chief New Business Officer, being honoured along with other sponsors at a special ceremony in the Sheraton Doha Hotel last week.

Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, commented: “Congratulations to everyone involved in such a successful event. Qatar is truly becoming a leader in the region for ICT security and we plan to continue to develop a world-class portfolio of products to help build this momentum.”

The company also highlighted a range of dedicated cyber security solutions designed for the banking and finance sector at the Information Security Conference for the Financial Sector, which took place in Doha on 1 November 2016.
