The "Fuel Your Senses" campaign delivered a refreshed new look and feel for Ooredoo, built around a shared sense of pride and purpose March 2010, Ooredoo announced the first phase of a national programme for “Fibre to the Home” (FTTH), aiming to link homes across Qatar with fibre connections over the next three years. The company has allocated QAR600 million for the first phase of the roll-out, which continued throughout the year. Also in March, the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre opened, donated by Ooredoo and managed by Hamad Medical Corporation. Designed to offer some of the most advanced treatment standards in the region and to provide comfort for those in need, the Centre was named in memory of Sheikh Fahad Bin Jassim Al-Thani. With a special opening ceremony that marked the start of an action-packed day, Sir Richard Branson arrived at the head of a V-formation fleet of jetski riders to launch the new Ooredoo Virgin Mobile Services in May 2010. September 2010, Ooredoo’s subsidiary Nawras announced the opening of the subscription period for its initial public offering in September 2010. When it closed in October 2010, the offer was fully subscribed. October 2010, Ooredoo group member Wataniya Mobile, the second licensed mobile telecommunications company in Palestine, announced its intention to undertake an Initial Public Offering of 15 per cent of its authorised share capital followed by a listing on the Palestine Exchange. When the offer closed in December 2010, it was more than 1.5x oversubscribed. December 2010, Ooredoo launched a new unlimited music service – “Backstage,” a music download service for mobile phones and PCs that gives music fans unlimited access to their favourite music. Following the launch in Qatar, the service was rolled out across multiple markets within the Ooredoo Group, as part of the long-term strategy of offering more entertainment and digital services to the diverse customer base. September 2009, Ooredoo was named as the winner of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award at the CEO Middle East Awards 2009. The award was presented to Ooredoo in recognition for its ongoing efforts to support CSR activity in its home market of Qatar, and for its success in extending its CSR strategy into regional and international markets. September 2009, Ooredoo announced the signing of a syndicated revolving credit facility, following the closing of the general syndication phase of the US$1.5 billion facility that was closed in March 2009. Facility was oversubscribed by more than 100 percent and the final facility size was increased to US$ 2 billion. The company made a major commitment to the people of Qatar in August 2009, with the publication of its first-ever Customer Charter. The Charter is a public document that outlines what Ooredoo does as a company, what its commitments are to its customers, and what the standards are that every customer can expect.\ Ooredoo doubled Broadband speeds for all its customers in Qatar, free of charge, in May 2009, supporting Qatar’s ongoing strides towards a knowledge-based economy. May 2009, Ooredoo opened a new office in Singapore, as part of its efforts to expand its presence in Southeast Asia and to enhance the levels of support for its operations in the region. May 2009, customers were delighted when Ooredoo launched Nojoom, its first-ever rewards programme and one of the most advanced customer benefit initiatives ever unveiled in the region. It operates by providing points for each Qatari Riyal spent on Ooredoo services, and enables customers to spend these points on a wide range of gifts and experiences. 22nd of June, 2008 witnessed the first step in Ooredoo’s strategy to deploy WiMAX services in the region after establishing wi-tribe Group, when we launched wireless broadband Internet service for the first time in Jordan. June 2008 we completed our acquisition of Indonesia Communications Limited (“ICLM”) and Indonesia Communications Pte. Ltd. (“ICLS”), which hold a combined 40.8%, interest in PT Indosat Tbk (“Indosat”) for US$1.8 billion in cash. With this transaction, the Group has increased its strategic stake in Indosat and raised Ooredoo’s customers base up to nearly 44 million customers in 16 countries. This also broadened the company’s interests in Indonesia, the fourth most populous country in the world. 2007 we received the "Deal of the Year" award after acquiring 51% of the share capital of Kuwait based National Mobile Telecommunications Company KSC - (Wataniya) from Kuwait Projects Company for a total cash consideration of $3.8 billion. This deal is expected to increase Ooredoo's role in the MENA region. January 2007 we extended our international presence after acquiring an approximate 25% equity stake in ST Telemedia's Asia Mobile Holdings Pte. Ltd. ("AMH") in four countries. As of September 2007 the Ooredoo Group achieved revenues of QR 6,903 bn (2006 - 3.083 bn), an increase of 123.9% over the corresponding period in 2006. The Group also grew its mobile subscriber base from 1.3 million in September 2006 to 14.2 million as of September 2007. November 2006 we signed an agreement with AT&T Inc to acquire a strategic stake in NavLink - a leading provider of managed data services to businesses in the Middle East. 2006 Ooredoo was the prestige partner of, and official telecommunications provider to, the 15th Asian Games Doha. It was here that we implemented the most advanced technology in the region, including a wide range of local and international telephone services, Internet and data services, and complete support for the television and radio broadcasting required to support the Games and transmit it to over 3 billion people around the world. Ooredoo is a winner of the 2006 GCC Economic Award. Ooredoo is a winner of the 2005 Gulf Excellence Award.
